WASHINGTON, N.J. (November 18, 2011) - Unity Bank has broken ground on a new full-service branch to be located at 5 East Asbury Anderson Road in Washington Township at the intersection of State Highway 31. Unity Bank expects to open its second Warren County branch and 15th overall in the first quarter of 2012.
"We are very excited about the groundbreaking for our Washington branch," said Unity Bank President James A. Hughes. "There is a lack of community banking alternatives for people in Washington and surrounding communities, so we expect the branch will be very well received by individuals and small businesses who desire the personalized banking experience. Many of our current customers at Unity Bank's Clinton headquarters are from the Washington area so the branch will provided convenience for this established customer base."
Unity Bank's Washington branch will create approximately a half dozen new jobs. The branch will be open six days a week: Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and drive-up 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., lobby and drive-up; and Saturday, 9 a.m. - Noon, lobby and drive-up.
"The Washington branch is a logical expansion of our service footprint and expands our presence in Warren County," said Hughes. "As a community bank, the staff we hire for the Washington branch is very important because our goal is to build long-term relationships with the people we serve. The Washington branch will be staffed by people who understand the importance of being a good corporate citizen and want to be involved in the community because knowing our customers is vital to the mission of Unity Bank."
The 3,100-square-foot, one-story stone and stucco structure will be located on an approximate three-quarter acre lot at the traffic light for Route 31 and East Asbury Anderson Road. The site plan includes entrances and exits on both roadways, one drive-up ATM, two drive-up teller windows and approximately 15 parking spaces.
The new branch is being constructed by SPS of Sparta, N.J., a specialist in financial services building design and construction that has completed multiple facility projects for Unity Bank over the last 10 years.
