CLINTON, N.J. (February 3, 2012) - Unity Bank has promoted Christopher A. Heffernan of Branchburg to Relationship Manager at its Clinton headquarters branch. Heffernan joined Unity Bank in 2008, previously serving as Assistant Relationship Manager with its Whitehouse branch.
Heffernan is responsible for managing the profitable Old Highway 22 branch, developing new business, and acting as a community liaison. He started his banking career in 2002 and has held positions with Sovereign Bank and PNC Bank. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University and is working toward a Master's in Accounting from Rutgers Business School with an expected graduation in December. Chris also is a graduate of the Marine Military Academy and is a volunteer with the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Scholarship Foundation and USMC Law Enforcement Foundation.
"Chris did an outstanding job as Assistant Relationship Manager for our Whitehouse branch," said Unity Bank President James A. Hughes. "He was instrumental in growing the branch while also reducing operating expenses so when an opportunity opened up at our headquarters branch it was a perfect fit. We believe very strongly in promoting from within whenever possible because we want to see our employees grow and advance with Unity Bank, so it was a pleasure to promote Chris."
