CLINTON, NJ (January 8, 2013) - Unity Bank recently donated $5,000 to the Boy Scouts of America Patriot's Path Council for Scoutreach/Inner City Scout programs. The donation will support Plainfield and Elizabeth area scouts who could not otherwise take part in programs, services and summer camp.
"The scouts are dedicated to serving all the youth in our area and our programs for inner-city scouts continue to grow," said Boy Scouts of America Director of Financial Services Joseph Gonnella. "Scouting in our underserved areas allows boys to experience Boy Scouts through after school programs, summer camps and field trips. With Unity Bank's generous gift, we will be able to provide one inner-city Scout Troop with a full year of program, service and summer camp."
Over 4,000 children are involved in scouting through Scoutreach in the greater Elizabeth area as well as parts of Northern and Central New Jersey. These services are fully funded by Boy Scouts and its supporters so urban, multicultural areas can have a true scouting experience regardless of their economic background.
