Unity Bank Donates More Than $18,000 To 19 Local Non-Profit Organizations in Join Forces Campaign

CLINTON, N.J. (July 15, 2015) - In the recently completed "Join Forces" campaign, Unity Bank donated more than $18,000 to 19 non-profit organizations, including grand prize winners Who is My Neighbor of Highland Park, Hunterdon Art Museum of Clinton, Rogers' Rescues of Whitehouse, and Safe Harbor of Easton, Pa.

The online contest encouraged the public to vote for one of the 19 organizations, which were separated into four program categories - youth, housing, arts and animal advocacy. The organization in each category with the most votes received a $2,000 donation and all others received $250 donations. No purchase was necessary to vote in the contest, however, anyone opening up a new personal checking account with Unity Bank was also able to select any of the 19 charitable organizations to receive an additional $25 donation from the bank.

"We would like to thank everyone who voted for taking part in the contest and joining forces with Unity Bank to support these great organizations," said James A. Hughes, Unity's President & CEO. "These important community service providers are all winners to us and we admire their continued dedication to serving the public in their own way. As a community bank, it is a privilege to play some small role in their respective missions."

The 19 participating charities were:

  • Youth Programs: Center for Educational Advancement - Spring Run School of Flemington, Who Is My Neighbor of Highland Park, Dreams for Kids of Somerset, The Children's Home of Easton, and Reach Educational Services of Flemington.
  • Housing: Safe in Hunterdon, Family Promise of Warren, Warren County Habitat for Humanity, Family Promise of Hunterdon County, and Safe Harbor of Easton.
  • The Arts: Franklin Township Cultural Arts Council, Edison Arts Society, Hunterdon Art Museum, and Plainfield Symphony.
  • Animal Advocacy: Second Chance for Animals of Somerset, Center for Animal Health & Wellness of Easton, Rogers' Rescues of Whitehouse Station, and Common Sense for Animals of New Village.
