PLAINFIELD, N.J. (November 3, 2015) - Unity Bank will sponsor a Thanksgiving Day breakfast on Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Plainfield Salvation Army, 615 Watchung Avenue, the fourth year in a row the bank has provided a meal at the facility. A free and friendly breakfast will be provided: eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee and tea.
The breakfast is intended for those in need, but all are welcome. The event was spurred by Unity's interest in serving the community in many varied ways. Several bank employees had previously volunteered their time at soup kitchens during the holidays and found it a rewarding experience.
"The opportunity to provide a meal at The Salvation Army has become a holiday tradition for Unity Bank," said Unity Bank President & CEO James A. Hughes. "We take our responsibility as a community bank to heart and encourage employees to take advantage of opportunities to serve the public. This is an event that brings special meaning to the holiday season so we hope as many people as possible will join us."
