Cranbury Design Firm Receives Unity Bank SBA Loan for Equipment Investment

CRANBURY, N.J. (March 17, 2016) - Ruitenberg Lind Design Group (RLDG) has received a $384,000 Small Business Administration (SBA) loan from Unity Bank of Clinton to support an equipment investment for the growing Cranbury firm.

RLDG specializes in the planning, design, fabrication and installation of professional environments for supermarkets, malls, specialty retailers, restaurants, hotels and health care facilities, just to mention a few of the more than 80 projects the firm has in process at any one time in the U.S., Canada and Caribbean.

The company invested in a Zund G32500L cutter. The Swiss technology is the leading global instrument for cutting rigid plastics, non-ferrous metals, composite panels, and many other rigid substrates as large as five feet by 10 feet. The company also invested in a Canon Oce Arizona 480XT industrial roll-to-roll and flatbed printer.

"The equipment will help the firm enhance client service," said Jill Ruitenberg, the company's president and CEO. "We previously would need to outsource our designs, which we can now produce in house. The technology gives us greater control over quality, deadlines and production."

Ruitenberg and her husband, Paul, who is the firm's director, chose Unity for the SBA loan after having a positive experience with a personal mortgage for their new home in Skillman. "We have had a great experience with Unity," said Jill Ruitenberg. "They have put a lot of faith in us and we are happy to have them as a banking partner."

Unity Bank participates in the 7(a) Loan Program, SBA's primary program to help start-up and existing small businesses obtain financing when they might not be eligible for business loans through normal lending channels. The bank also participates in the SBA 504 Loan program, an economic development program that offers small businesses long-term, fixed-rate financing used to acquire fixed assets for expansion or modernization. Unity Bank is consistently among the top 10 of New Jersey SBA lenders in loan volume. The program also serves parts of Pennsylvania and is expanding into New York.
